### Three complaints, three prices

- **Never gets hot:** an element, a relay, or on gas the igniter — which fails by weakening rather than dying
- **Gets hot but wrong:** the temperature sensor, or calibration. These are far apart in price and only measurement tells them apart
- **Hot but uneven:** the convection fan more often than an element

### The cheapest outcome

An oven that runs cool by the same amount at every temperature is often adjustable rather than broken, and many of these can be recalibrated. It is the first thing we check because it is the only one that costs nothing.

Oven sensors are quoted nationally at roughly $100–$250 and heating elements at $150–$450, with door and lock work around $100–$250. A wall oven adds the time it takes to bring the appliance out of the cabinetry, which is real and which we plan for.

Which of the three complaints

No heat, wrong heat and uneven heat are an element, a sensor and a fan. Only a measurement separates the middle one from calibration.
