# Bosch water dispenser not working

### The fastest diagnosis is the code

The dispenser interface is one of the three codes this equipment publishes, so a code here actually means something specific. And whether the ice maker is still producing tells you immediately whether water is reaching the refrigerator at all.

### One question halves the problem

Is the ice maker still producing? If it is, water is getting into the refrigerator and the problem is between there and the dispenser — the door line, the switch, the control. If it is not, the problem is upstream: the filter, the valve or the supply.

### The frozen door line

The water tube runs through the door, and if the refrigerator compartment is set too cold it freezes. Water stops, ice keeps working, and nothing is broken. Turning the compartment up a degree for a day usually clears it, and if it comes back the setting is worth leaving alone.

Blocked, wrong, or not seated. If both ice and water have slowed, this is the first suspect by a distance.

A frozen line in the door

The tube in the door freezes if the refrigerator compartment runs too cold. Water stops, ice keeps working, and turning the fridge up a degree often clears it.

The supply valve behind the unit

Partly closed, or a line kinked when the refrigerator was last moved.

The dispenser switch or control

Ice works, the display responds, and the paddle does nothing. That points at the dispenser side and it has its own code.

A dispenser lock

Most of these have one, usually a button held for a few seconds. It is easy to set while wiping the panel.

Is the ice maker still working?

If yes, water is reaching the refrigerator and the problem is on the dispenser side. If no, it is supply or filter. One question, half the possibilities gone.

Check the dispenser lock

On the panel, usually a button held for three seconds. Free, and it catches more of these than anyone expects.

Change or reseat the filter

And run several liters through afterwards to clear the air.

Try a warmer fridge setting for a day

If the line in the door has frozen, a degree warmer usually clears it, and that tells you what happened.

Splits the problem usefully

What it usually means

Nothing at all from the dispenser

A trickle instead of a stream

Ice still working, water not
