What moves it

Why two of the same job cost different amounts

These apply at the same time and in both directions. Which of them is true of your kitchen is what the on-site diagnostic settles.

  • Which appliance

A dishwasher board and a wall oven board are different parts at different prices, and an induction generator module is its own conversation entirely.

  • Whether it is actually the board

A sensor reading nonsense makes a healthy board behave like a broken one. This is the repair where the diagnostic most obviously pays for itself.

  • Configuration after fitting

Several boards across this range have to be told what appliance they are in. That step is part of the job and part of the figure.

What we actually do

The job behind the figure: what it involves, when a symptom points at it, and what we check first.

    Control board replacement

The repair we most want to rule out before doing. A board is the expensive part on most of this equipment, and a good share of the symptoms that point at one turn out to be a sensor, a harness or a power supply instead.

About Bosch control board replacement cost

The diagnosis most often guessed

A control board explains everything, which is precisely why it gets blamed for everything. A good share of the appliances we see with a "board problem" have a sensor, a harness, a switch or a supply problem instead — and those are a fraction of the cost.

Storm season

Boards fail here in clusters after outages, in two versions. One is an appliance that came back confused and clears with five minutes genuinely off at the breaker. The other is real surge damage. There is no way to tell them apart without trying the free one first, and we always do.

Where the figures sit

Published ranges put control board replacement at roughly $200–$500 depending on the appliance, with the part alone between $130 and $400. On an entry-series machine that can approach what the appliance is worth, and when it does you will hear so on the visit rather than after the invoice.

Questions about bosch control board replacement cost

Someone already told me it is the board.

Maybe, and we would like to prove it before you pay for one. It is the most expensive diagnosis to get wrong.

It started right after a power cut.

Try five minutes genuinely off at the breaker first — not standby. A fair number come back. Those that do not often have real damage, and that timing is worth telling us.

Is it worth it on an older appliance?

That is a real conversation and you get it on the visit. On a wall oven it usually is; on an entry-series machine it often is not.
