How this visit actually goes
The same order every time, so nothing is opened and nothing is charged before you have seen the figure and said yes.

01
The filter and the pump cover
Both come out by hand, and between them they explain most standing water. We do this in front of you so you can do it yourself next time.
-
02
Then the path out
The hose, the high loop, the air gap and the disposal knockout plug — a machine plumbed into a disposal that still has its plug in has never drained and never will.
-
03
The pump itself
If the pump is drawing current and not moving water, or not drawing at all, that is the part. It is a well-designed replacement and usually same-visit.
-
04
A full cycle, watched
We run a cycle through to the drain and watch it finish. A drain repair signed off on a rinse is a repair signed off early.

Dishwasher drain repair cost
What it costs to get a dishwasher draining again — and how often it turns out to cost nothing but the visit, because the filter and the pump cover come out by hand.
- Published range $100–$250 for a drain pump
- A blocked filter costs the visit and no more
- The pump is usually a same-visit part

The appliance this brand is known for, and the one we are called out to most. Bosch dishwashers dry with condensation rather than a heating element and protect themselves with a leak sensor in the base, so two of the commonest complaints about them are the design working as intended — and two more are not.
- Water left standing in the tub
- E15 and the leak protection tripping
- Plastics coming out wet

About Bosch dishwasher drain repair
The most common call on this brand
A Bosch dishwasher that will not drain is the single thing we are asked about most, and it has an unusually good ratio of easy causes to expensive ones. The filter assembly in the floor of the tub and the drain pump cover beside it are both designed to be removed by hand, without tools, and between them they account for a large share of what we find.
Three names for one condition
The manufacturer has labelled this differently across three generations of machine, and all three are still in South Florida kitchens: a two-digit code in the twenties, a four-digit code, or — on a model with no digital display — a pattern of flashing lights above the door. They are the same condition and the same list of causes.
What decides the figure
- A blocked filter or a loose pump cover: the visit, and nothing else
- A blocked or kinked hose, or an air gap full of debris: the visit plus a little time
- A drain pump that has failed: the part, and usually the same visit
- A machine plumbed into a new disposal with the knockout plug still in place: an installation problem rather than a repair, and we will say so

Questions about bosch dishwasher drain repair
It shows E24, or four lights flashing. Same thing?
Yes — and that is worth knowing. Bosch labels this condition differently across generations: two-digit codes on older machines, four-digit ones on newer, and a pattern of flashing lights on models with no display. All of them mean the water is not leaving.
Can I clear it myself?
Often. The filter unscrews and the drain pump cover lifts out, both without tools, and standing water can be bailed out with a cup first. If it comes back within a week, something upstream is feeding it.
Why does it happen more here?
Hard water and a machine that runs cool. Scale and grease build a film in the drain path that a hotter, softer-water machine would have carried away.
